Freight we arrange

Freight services we arrange with vetted carriers

We don't run trucks: for each of these services we book an independent, vetted carrier, and when freight has to wait we coordinate space with an independent warehouse.

Seven freight services, one contact

Pick the one that fits your freight. Each service page explains what it is, how we arrange it and what to tell us for a price; the last line of each card is what we ask for to quote it.

A whole truck (FTL)

The whole trailer is booked for your freight alone, from pickup to delivery.

To quote, we need: pickup and delivery cities, the ready date, pallets or pieces, total weight and what the freight is.

A few pallets (partial / LTL)

Your pallets ride with other shippers' freight, and the price reflects the space and weight you use.

To quote, we need: number of pallets with their size and weight, pickup and delivery cities, and whether either end has no dock.

Learn more

Cold or frozen (reefer)

Refrigerated or frozen trailers, set case by case. Send the temperature range — and for food, the sanitary requirements — and you hear from us in writing, before anything is booked, whether we can arrange it.

To quote, we need: the temperature range, the product (and its sanitary requirements if it is food), pallets, weight and dates.

Big, heavy or open-deck (flatbed)

Open-deck trailers for freight that is too tall, wide or heavy for a van, with tarps, straps and any permits coordinated with the carrier.

To quote, we need: size and weight of each piece, how it is loaded and unloaded, and the pickup and delivery locations.

Car hauling & vehicle transport

For dealers, auctions and fleets: open or enclosed carriers, running or not.

To quote, we need: year, make and model, whether it runs, open or enclosed carrier, and the pickup and delivery locations.

Learn more

Box truck & final mile

Urban deliveries that don't need a 53-foot trailer, with liftgate when there is no dock.

To quote, we need: pallets or pieces, whether there is a dock or you need a liftgate, and the delivery window.

Expedited & backup

When your carrier falls through, we look for a vetted carrier to cover the lane.

To quote, we need: the pickup and delivery locations, pallets and weight, and when the freight must be picked up.

A route with more than one pickup or delivery (multi-stop)? List every stop when you ask for a price, and we look for a carrier that can run the whole route.

How every service works the same way

Whichever service you pick, the process is the same, and one team handles it from the first price to the invoice.

  1. Tell us what you're shippingThe "To quote, we need" line on each card above lists what to tell us for that service.
  2. Get your priceGet the instant quote or ask a person for a quote; the booking waits for your approval of the price.
  3. We book a vetted carrierWe book the carrier that fits the service and send you the pickup details and the bill of lading.
  4. Track it to deliveryEvery service ends the same way: proof of delivery and one invoice, with tracking along the way.

Extras

Extras follow the terms of your quote. The usual ones: detention when a truck waits past its free time, a lift platform (liftgate) where there is no dock, an added stop, a truck ordered and not used (TONU), and freight that turns out different from its description.

How we choose carriers

Whatever the service, the carrier is checked before it is booked: active FMCSA authority, the insurance on its certificate, and our terms against passing your load to anyone else.

Need storage too?

Pallets that have to wait between trucks can stay in an independent warehouse near the route; we plan that storage together with the trucks in and out.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pay?

You approve the price first. New customers pay before the truck leaves. Full answer

I don't have a loading dock or forklift.

Tell us in your request: we look for a carrier with a liftgate truck (a lift platform that lowers the pallets to the ground). It's quoted as an extra before you book. Full answer

Is my freight insured on the road?

We only book carriers with at least $100,000 in cargo insurance and $1,000,000 in auto liability, checked on their certificate of insurance; that insurance is the carrier's, and Bear Shift doesn't sell cargo insurance. Full answer
