About Bear Shift Logistics
A licensed, bonded freight broker built around verification
We arrange freight with independent, FMCSA-authorized carriers and coordinate storage with independent warehouses. Before we book anyone, we check their authority, their insurance and their paperwork.
What we are, and what we are not
Are you a trucking company?
Bear Shift Logistics is a freight broker, not a carrier and not a warehouse: we hold our own FMCSA broker authority, book independent carriers under theirs and coordinate storage with independent warehouses that issue their receipts to you.
The trucks, the drivers and the warehouse docks belong to the independent companies we work with. Our part is choosing them — checking each carrier's authority and insurance, and each warehouse's coverage, before we book — and coordinating each move from the first quote to the final invoice.
Licensed and bonded
A freight broker needs its own operating authority from the FMCSA, the federal trucking agency, before it can arrange a single load, and it must keep $75,000 in financial security — a surety bond or a trust fund — on file. Our authority and our bond are both on file.
Are you bonded?
Yes. We keep a $75,000 broker bond on file with the FMCSA, which meets the federal financial-security requirement for brokers; it is not cargo insurance. Full answer

How we work
Every shipment follows the same four steps, with one team beside you throughout.
- Tell us what you're shippingOrigin, destination, freight and dates, sent the way that suits you.
- Get your priceAn instant quote online or a quote from a person; you approve it before anything is booked.
- We book a vetted carrierA carrier we have checked, with the pickup details and the bill of lading shared with you.
- Track it to deliveryTracking while it moves, then proof of delivery and one invoice.
How we choose carriers
Before we book a carrier for your load, we check:
- Active operating authority with the FMCSA, the federal trucking agency
- At least $1,000,000 auto liability and $100,000 cargo insurance, checked on their certificate of insurance
- We also ask each carrier for its W-9 and to sign our Broker-Carrier Agreement
- Our carrier terms prohibit handing your load to another carrier or broker (no double brokering)

Why Seattle–Tacoma
From our base in the Puget Sound we arrange loads throughout the Pacific Northwest, plus shipments between here and any of the lower 48 states.
The Puget Sound is a busy freight region: the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, the I-5 corridor north to Canada and south to Portland and California, I-90 east over the Cascades to Spokane, and the warehouses and distribution centers of the Kent Valley. Our office is in Issaquah, just off I-90 east of Seattle, close to the region's shippers, carriers and warehouses.
