Freight broker in Everett and Snohomish County
Freight broker in Everett and Snohomish County, Washington: Bear Shift books trucks for shippers from Mukilteo and Paine Field up to Marysville and Arlington. In this county a lot of freight is tied to aerospace, manufacturing and construction, and loads often head down I-5, up toward Bellingham or east on US-2. An independent, FMCSA-authorized carrier hauls each one, while we take care of the booking, the coordination and the updates.
Where Snohomish County ships from
Paine Field, the county airport on the south side of Everett, is home to Boeing's large assembly plant, with aerospace suppliers, machine shops and business parks nearby. SR-526 connects that area to I-5, with Mukilteo just to the west. Everett also has a seaport of its own, run by the Port of Everett, which is separate from the alliance that manages the Seattle and Tacoma container terminals.
North of the city, the Cascade Industrial Center spans Arlington and Marysville around the Arlington Municipal Airport, an area set aside for manufacturing and large industrial buildings. SR-9 runs parallel to I-5 farther east, through Snohomish and Lake Stevens, and US-2 leaves Everett heading east over Stevens Pass toward Wenatchee. Farther up I-5 come Mount Vernon, Bellingham and the Canadian border at Blaine.
What commonly moves in Snohomish County
Freight here is often heavy, valuable or awkward to handle, not only pallets of boxes. Typical loads include these.
- Aircraft parts, tooling and components moving between suppliers and assembly sites.
- Machinery and equipment that need a flatbed, a step-deck or a careful liftgate delivery.
- Building materials for construction projects across the north Puget Sound.
- Freight for Skagit and Whatcom counties, up I-5 toward Mount Vernon and Bellingham.
How we arrange Everett-area loads
Aerospace and industrial freight often comes with handling instructions: protective packaging, no stacking, a specific trailer, or a delivery window set by a receiving department. We read those instructions before booking and choose the carrier and the equipment around them. Open-deck pieces go on a flatbed with the right securement, and crated parts usually ride in a dry van, either a full trailer or shared space.
Flatbed and step-deck
Machinery, tooling and long pieces that will not fit inside a van.
Full truckload
A dedicated dry van for crated parts that should not share a trailer.
Expedited and backup freight
When a part has to reach a production line on short notice.
Storage north of Seattle
When parts or materials need to wait for a job site, a production slot or a consolidated shipment, we look for space with an independent partner warehouse along the I-5 corridor, in Snohomish County or farther south toward the Kent Valley, depending on where the freight goes next. The warehouse receives and holds the goods and issues its receipts to you, and we coordinate the trucks that bring them in and take them out.

Everett and Snohomish County questions
Can you arrange trucks for aerospace parts?
Yes. As a broker we look for a carrier whose equipment and experience fit the part. Tell us the dimensions, the weight, how the part is crated or mounted, whether it can be stacked and any handling rules from the shipper or the receiver. If the part needs special equipment at either end, such as a crane or a particular forklift, say so in the request so it is planned before the truck is booked.
Do you handle shipments to Canada?
Shipments that cross into Canada need a licensed customs broker for the clearance, and Bear Shift is not a customs broker. If your freight is going north of the border at Blaine, ask us first: we tell you whether we can arrange the truck for it and what your customs broker will need from the shipment.
Is Paine Field the only area you cover in Everett?
No. We arrange loads anywhere in Everett and across Snohomish County, including Mukilteo, Lynnwood, Marysville, Arlington, Lake Stevens, Snohomish and Monroe. Give us the full addresses and the dock or liftgate details for each end.
